National History Day Project

Hey guys, it's Henry here. I have just recently finished my History Day project on Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Uncle Tom's Cabin. This has been a very lengthy project. It is a grade for my G.A.T.E./History class. First, I collected 400 facts on notecards about her. I made a process paper and an annotated bibliography, and then made this project. It looks like a giant book. We started out with 5 pieces of plywood that were 5 ft. tall. We wallpapered the inside pages, and for the covers we used a cloth similar to leather. For the title, we had Jackie Merrill use her Vinyl Lettering machine to cut it out. Everything on the project had to be backed with colored paper, and that took a while. On Friday the 27th, I take it to be judged at Rocky Mountain Middle School. If I get 1st or 2nd in my group, I move on to State. If I win first or second in my category there, I take it to Nationals in Washington D.C. I'm glad it is almost all over with!
